This Privacy Policy explains how Merkel LLC (“Merkel LLC,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with Ecom Profits (“the Service”), an analytics platform for e-commerce businesses available at ecomprofits.io and app.ecomprofits.io.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account information
When you register for the Service, we collect information you provide, including your name, email address, company name, and billing information for subscription management.
2.2 Information from connected advertising platforms
The Service integrates with third-party advertising and analytics platforms (including Meta, Pinterest, Klaviyo, Shopify, and others) at your explicit authorization. When you connect a platform, we access and store the following through the official APIs of those platforms:
- Meta (Facebook & Instagram): ad account IDs, campaign / ad set / ad structure and names, daily performance insights (impressions, clicks, reach, spend, purchases, purchase value, ROAS, video views, quality rankings), currency, timezone, and account status metadata. We access this data through Meta’s Marketing API only.
- Other platforms: equivalent ad account, campaign, performance, and order data from any other platform you choose to connect.
We do not access or store your Facebook profile content, private messages, personal posts, or any content unrelated to your business advertising performance.
2.3 Usage information
We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages viewed, features used, and technical data (browser type, IP address, session timestamps) for security, debugging, and product improvement.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information collected to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Render analytics dashboards and reports for the accounts you have authorized;
- Process subscription payments and manage your account;
- Communicate with you about service updates, security notifications, and support requests;
- Improve, personalize, and expand the Service based on usage patterns;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or the advertising data of your connected accounts to third parties. We do not use your Meta data for purposes other than delivering the Service to you.
4. Data Sharing and Sub-Processors
We use trusted third-party service providers (“sub-processors”) to operate the Service. These providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and security obligations and may only access data as necessary to perform their function.
- Supabase — hosted database, authentication, and storage.
- Vercel — application hosting and edge network.
- Upstash / Redis — background job queue and caching.
- Anthropic — AI-assisted performance analysis, where enabled.
- Payment processors — secure processing of subscription payments (payment card details are handled directly by the processor and are not stored on our servers).
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or valid governmental request, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Merkel LLC, our users, or the public.
5. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the Service and to comply with our legal obligations. Specifically:
- Advertising performance data from connected platforms is retained for up to 24 months from the date of sync, or until you disconnect the corresponding account, whichever occurs first.
- Access tokens for connected platforms are retained only while the connection is active. When you disconnect an account or revoke the connection at the source platform, tokens are invalidated and deleted within 7 days.
- Account and billing records are retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 7 years after cancellation, as required by financial and tax regulations.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including:
- Encryption in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher for all data exchanged with the Service;
- Encryption at rest for sensitive data including access tokens (AES-256-GCM);
- Access controls limiting Merkel LLC personnel to only the data necessary for their role;
- Regular security reviews and monitoring of access logs.

7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your personal information (see our Data Deletion page for the process).
- Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent — disconnect any linked platform at any time from within the Service or revoke access at the source platform (e.g., Meta Business Manager → Business Integrations).

8. Meta Platform-Specific Terms
When you connect a Meta account (Facebook or Instagram) to Ecom Profits, you authorize us to access data through Meta’s Marketing API subject to the permissions you grant. Merkel LLC is responsible for the handling of Meta data in accordance with Meta’s Platform Terms and this Privacy Policy.
You may revoke Ecom Profits’ access to your Meta data at any time by visiting Facebook Settings → Business Integrations and removing Ecom Profits. When you revoke access, we will invalidate stored tokens and delete associated Meta data within 30 days.
9. International Data Transfers
Merkel LLC is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for use by businesses and their authorized representatives, not by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice in the Service before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
